“Due to high demand, we have reports of scattered outages from various cable and satellite provides and the online offering” Showtime, the fight broadcaster, said in a statement released shortly before midnight Saturday. “We will delay the start of the main event slightly to allow for systems to get on track.  We do not expect a lengthy delay.”

It is not known how many carriers or online providers are experiencing outages, EPSN reported.

AFTER THE FIGHT

In his post-fight interview, Mayweather admits that McGregor was a tougher opponent than he expected. But he also said he executed his gameplan flawlessly, allowing McGregor to wear out in the early rounds, fire all of his big shots, then fatigue down the stretch. Mayweather turned on the gas the final few rounds, finishing off McGregor after the fighter had long been running on empty.

Said Mayweather of McGregor: “He’s a lot better than I thought he was. He used different angles. He was a tough competitor. But I was the better man tonight.”

McGregor said he wished the ref had let the fight keep going, saying he was only fatigued.

“I thought it was a little early of a stoppage,” he said.

As for Mayweather, McGregor praised the boxing star but also didn’t sound over-the-top impressed with his opponent.

“He was a lot more composed under the shots,” he offered.

ROUND TEN

It’s over! Money Mayweather is the champion!

After letting McGregor wear himself out one final time, Mayweather finished McGregor off with an unbelievable barrage of punches. The ref stepped in while McGregor was still standing, but woozy and against the ropes. Mayweather celebrated with a sprint across the ring.

ROUND SEVEN

Another big round for Mayweather. He got the crowd on its feet at one point after knocking McGregor around the ring. The UFC star looks absolutely gassed at this point, grabbing on to Mayweather and locking up several times to catch his breath. He’s still connecting on a handful of shots, but Mayweather’s are far more frequent and ferocious. Money is cruising.

ROUND SIX

The momentum is swinging heavily in Mayweather’s favor. McGregor looks fatigued. After all, the UFC only has five rounds and we’re in Round 6. Mayweather was on the attack most of the round, with McGregor’s flashes coming less frequently in this round. McGregor is going to need to make something happen quickly for him to win this fight. Mayweather is going to pick him apart if this trend continues.

ROUND FIVE

We’re getting deep into this fight, which most analysts predicted would be a bad thing for McGregor, but he’s managed to stay respectable so far. He’s definitely more winded than Mayweather, as the 49–0 champ continues to attack and McGregor treads water as the fight wanes on.

One thing is clear: McGregor is in Mayweather’s head to some extent. Floyd just pushed Conor in the chest after the bell had sounded.

ROUND FOUR

The intensity is picking up! Both McGregor and Mayweather had their moments in the fourth, notably a left hook by McGregor and several impressive combinations by Mayweather. After being passive in the first three rounds, Mayweather started to stalk McGregor in Round Four, forcing him to back-pedal on several occasions. The crowd is responding after any shots landed by either side.

Four rounds in, there’s no question this fight has already delivered.

ROUND THREE

Uh, oh. McGregor keeps punching Mayweather in the back of the head, leading the ref to break things up. Despite an impressive start, those types of illegal punches could wipe everything away. His jab continued to be a weapon, landing several shots to the head on Mayweather.

Until Mayweather wakes up, McGregor’s going to continue to outpoint him at this rate.

ROUND TWO

Round two was pretty much an even split. McGregor continued to assert his physicality, bodying Mayweather and landing several strong jabs. Floyd countered better in the second round, landing his share of punches on McGregor as well. Still, this is McGregor’s fight so far. Despite his bravado, he’s a patient fighter.

ROUND ONE

We’ve got a fight! Mayweather and McGregor spent most of the first round sizing each other up, but they had an equal amount of impressive flashes. McGregor landed several good punches on Mayweather, visibly to Floyd’s surprise. McGregor gained confidence quickly, at one point putting his arms behind his back to taunt a timid Mayweather.

Mayweather_vs_McGregor_Live_Round_by_Round_Updates

All things considered… I think, McGregor…won…that…round?! He was the aggressor and set the tone. Mayweather might have just been taking notes, but he didn’t show much. He’s holding back for the time being.

12:14 A.M. ET:

OK, McGregor and Mayweather just touched gloves in the middle. Surprisingly civil. Mayweather looks like he’s barely taking this seriously. He’s so calm it’s somehow disrespectful. I love it. HERE WE GO!

 final odds:

Mayweather: -550
McGregor: +350

I can’t believe this is actually happening.

IT’S LIT. Floyd Mayweather’s walk-out outfit is insane. He’s wearing a full black ski-mask and dressed head-to-toe in black and gold. He looks like a stone-cold killer.

What have they said?

Floyd Mayweather Jr

In the first stop of a four-city media tour promoting the fight, told the 20,000-strong crowd in Los Angeles: “I don’t care if it’s a ring or it’s an octagon, I will kick ass. I don’t back down for anybody.

“You line them up and I will knock them down. On August 26, I’m gonna knock this b**** out too.”

McGregor retorted: “You haven’t knocked anyone out in about 20 years.”

Mayweather added: “We talking about from the nineties to now, world champion 18 years, but it is no problem. I’m not the same fighter as I was years ago, but I got enough to beat you.

“You will wave that white flag. You are going out on your face or your back. Which was do you want to go? All you need to do is show up and I will do the rest.”

“God only made one thing perfect, and that is my boxing record.”

Conor McGregor

The Irishman was the crowd favourite at the opening press event as he made fun of Mayweather’s IRS troubles – a lack of cash prompted him to file an appeal with the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) regarding overdue taxes – and promised to flatten an aging fighter.

“He’s in a track suit,” McGregor told the crowd of more than 11,000 people. “He can’t even afford a suit anymore.”

“I am honoured to be here, to give you this spectacle,” McGregor said. “His little legs, his little core, his little head, I am going to knock him out inside four rounds, mark my words.

“I am a young, confident, happy man that has worked extremely hard for this.

“I am just up here embracing everything. No-one can do anything to me. I am just enjoying myself and having a good time.

“He will be unconsciousness in four rounds. He has never faced this. I don’t fear him.

“All these rules, all these restrictions, it doesn’t faze me; it amuses me. It is funny to me all these rules.

“All I need is a gum shield. Line me up to the ring and I am good to go.”

Wladimir Klitschko

  • “You do not have a chance to fight a boxer MMA,” he said slowly to the king’s DAZN.

  • “Okay, there’s a lot of luck, no luck, as MMA fighters have had a few chances in a boxing challenge, and McGregor agrees to fight boxing and Floyd Mayweather is not a boxer, but a MMA fighter.”

Oscar De La Hoya

Six-pound champion De La Hoya said to Omnisport: “McGregor did not fight with any boxing in his life, it’s a very different sport when you can not kick, when you can not arm, when you can not do arm bar … you can just leave one and punch it. A totally different spore, a completely different discipline.

  • “You can not call a high-level warrior as a bokscoo right before the bat, for example, winning 20 world champions in six different weight classes took 20 years.”

Tony Bellew

“Can Conor McGregor beat Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match? It’s not a hope in Hell, I think,” in a statement to former WBC cruiserweight belt owner Bellew Omnisport;

“No doubt, people are less respected that this guy can come up with a completely different sport and believe they can overcome the best fight of our time.

“But Conor McGregor and his speech, his way of introducing himself, his presence … is probably the fastest growing athlete in the world I’ve ever seen in my life … I have never seen such a rapid rise,” he said.

Octagon

Jimi Manuwa

The UFC knockout artist Manuwa said to Omnisport: “[McGregor] is going to go to the battlefield, who will hit and go down with this four-ounce glove and everything.

“Totally focused, totally in [zone] A workaholic.

“I think it’s going to be very difficult, if they catch Mayweather, they’ll have problems.

“I think McGregor stops him early in the first three rounds.”

“You are talking about one discipline where you can use only your hands and only a few can do it. Every battle sport starts with your hands but they are two totally different sports.

“Floyd will stop him. He’s just too good at boxing for McGregor and McGregor is too inexperienced at boxing. He can’t use his other styles.”

Ricky Hatton:

“I feel embarrassed to say this but I’d be very surprised if (McGregor) wins a round.

“I hope he does well, I hope he wins; there’s no doubt whose corner I’m in, but if you’re asking me to be brutally honest I can’t see anything other than a shut-out for Mayweather. I think it could be a 12-round onslaught, to be honest with you.”

Peter Fury

“McGregor is going to get knocked out, and quickly,” Fury told the Sunday Times “He’s going to come in and force his hand. He has to press, to attack, and as soon as he does, he’s in deep trouble. His only chance would be to be rough, tough and aggressive.”

What is the latest news?

Conor McGregor has been driven on through the final stages of the training camp for his August 26 fight with Floyd Mayweather by the increasing ridicule he is receiving.

The 29-year-old fights for the first time as a professional boxer at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena against the undefeated Mayweather, one of the sport’s all-time greats.

McGregor built his reputation as one of the leading figures in the UFC, but few within the boxing community give him any chance of even testing an opponent who is 40 and has been inactive for almost two years.

Most recently America’s Terence Crawford, among the world’s finest fighters, and David Haye have released videos on social media mocking the warm-up technique with which McGregor demonstrates unusually loose and flexible arms.

The fight is set to break all pay-per-view records – and after months of trash-talking, a world tour, and last night’s weigh in, Mayweather v McGregor is finally here.

Saturday night will see out-of-retirement best boxer of his generation Floyd Mayweather facing the UFC’s biggest star, Conor McGregor, in Sin City.

  • Conor McGregor weighed in 3.5 pounds heavier than Floyd Mayweather ahead of their £500million mega-fight.
  • The Irishman tipped the scales at 153lb, inside the 154lb limit, compared to Mayweather’s 149.5lb.
  • The boxing legend has spent all week insisting that his Irish opponent was struggling with his weight cut.
  • But McGregor showed no sign of that as he saluted the thousands of fans in attendance.

The UFC star faces a mammoth challenge in his professional boxing debut against the best boxer of his generation.

Floyd_Mayweather_vs_Conor_McGregor_Live_Stream

The Irishman takes on Mayweather on Saturday night in Las Vegas as he becomes the first fighter to make the switch from UFC to boxing.

When is the weigh-in, and what time does it start?

  • Both men will take to the scales TONIGHT from 11pm BST, or 3pm local time in the US.
  • It will be the last time the pair will go head to head before they are in the ring on Saturday night.
  • The weigh-in will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Brooklyn- which is the same venue for the fight.

  • Alternatively you can keep up to date with our live blog.
  • What weight will the fight be fought at?
  • The clash will be fought at 154lbs – light middleweight.

Mayweather, who is coming out of retirement for the fight, has accused McGregor of being a full 10 pounds over the 154lbs limit.

He has added that the fight will not be called off even if McGregor fails to make the weight.

Mayweather said: “Conor McGregor is extremely heavy right now.

“I think he’s 164 so he’s still got 10 pounds to go.

“I get that extra money if you can’t make the weight.

“Get those extra millions ready. UFC get those extra millions ready.

“You got to get that weight down like a true champion. A true champion is disciplined and very responsible but we’ll see.

“I don’t think he’s going to make the weight.”

mayweather-vs-mcgregor-live-weigh-in

What happens if McGregor misses the weight?

Should Conor McGregor come in over the weight, he will get a fine taken out of his fight purse.

Because there’s no belt on the line, all that McGregor has to lose is a fine, not the chance to win a title.

McGregor’s fine, however, would go straight to Mayweather’s pocket, as the fighter who fails to make the weight has to pay his opponent.

Where can I buy tickets for the weigh-in?

  • For fans who have purchased tickets for the fight, they can access the weigh-in with complimentary tickets.

When is the fight, and what time will it start?

How much money will they make each?

According to Mirror.co.uk

Floyd Mayweather is guaranteed to take home $100million from his fight with Conor McGregor .

He takes on the Irishman in Las Vegas on Saturday night in his 50th professional fight.

UFC start McGregor will take home a minimum of $30m as he makes his boxing debut.

Both fighters will see their earnings increase after pay-per-view sales are taken into account.

The fight could set a new PPV record, beating the previous one of 4.6m set when Mayweather fought Manny Pacquiao two years ago.

On the undercard, Nathan Cleverly will pocket significantly less than Badou Jack despite being the champion.

The Welshman is guaranteed a cheque for $100,000 while the challenger will earn at least $750.000.

Gervonta Davis will earn $600,000 despite being stripped of his super-featherweight title after failing to make weight.

His opponent Francisco Fonseca will be paid $35,000.

  • He does so as the UFC’s greatest asset, but enters a fight that could prove hugely uncompetitive even if it pays him his greatest ever purse.

McGregor manoeuvred his way into such a lucrative fight partly through his clever use of social media, but after insisting he found the videos “light-hearted”, he became defensive and revealed how those doubting him have spurred him on.

“It’s certainly motivating,” the Irishman said. “The disrespect of my skill-set: I look at people and their minds are closed. ‘It’s a set way and there’s no other way’.

  • “If that was the case we’d never have reached across the waters and searched for other land, and never have gone into space.

“When I hear their disrespect, I use it as motivation and I look forward to going in and educating them. I get it. I’m coming in (to the sport), I understand where it’s at, I’m just looking forward to proving what I’m saying and earning my respect in this game also.

Who is referee, who are the judges?

  • REFEREE: Robert Byrd
  • JUDGES: Burt Clements, Dave Moretti and Guido Cavalieri

Vastly experienced American referee Robert Byrd will be the third man in the ring, with the judges confirmed as Burt Clements, Dave Moretti, both American, and Guido Cavalleri, of Italy, after McGregor’s team had requested an international judge in the trio.

Byrd refereed Mayweather’s unanimous points decision victory against Robert Guerrero four years ago. Mayweather’s last three fights were refereed by Kenny Bayless, but he was ruled out after critical comments from McGregor’s head coach John Kavanagh.
